Primitivo di Manduria – Fruity notes of berries and plum jam, with spicy notes like chocolate, vanilla and tobacco. The palate is full and round, with soft tannins and aromas of red berries, herbs and coffee in the lingering finale.

Gran Maestro wines are made by the collaboration of two Maestros (Professional) winemakers: Beppe, the winemaker in Apulia, who makes the vinification process according to our directions and Marco, our brand new winemaker, who following our expectations, spends a good amount of time in the Apulia region to select the best grapes which are enhanced with oak refinement and blending.

Primitivo

Primitivo is a dark-skinned grape known for producing inky, tannic wines, particularly Primitivo di Manduria and its naturally sweet Dolce Naturale variant. Although there have been contentious and long-running debates about the variety’s geographical origins, there is little question that Primitivo’s modern-day home is in southern Italy, particularly Puglia.
